Merrion Square is based right in the heart of Dublin 2, which is one of Dublin’s most important business areas. It is within walking distance of the other Georgian squares of Fitzwilliam Square and the much larger St. Stephen’s Green. The area is also close to the so-called ‘Silicon Docks’, which houses the offices of such tech giants as Facebook, Twitter, AirBnB, Google and LinkedIn.

There are multiple bus stops around the square. It is the first stop for many routes, so you’ll always get a seat on the bus home.

The major bus depot of Busáras, with connections all around the country and even over to Wales and beyond, is just a short walk across the river onto the North side. There are also plenty of bus services to Dublin Airport that you can catch nearby.
