• Dublin 1 is one of Dublin’s most iconic and historic areas. It is separated from Dublin 2 by the River Liffey, which splits the city right in two. 


  • Located on the north side of the river, important streets and areas in Dublin 1 are O’Connell Street, the main thoroughfare through Dublin 1, which is steeped in the most important of Irish histories, The Docklands, Henry Street, Parnell Street, the International Financial Services Centre and the North Wall Quays.

There are a few Luas stops on both the Green and Red Lines that will bring you across the city.

The station even offers services to Wales and England, with buses utilising the ferry crossing and continuing on to destinations in the United Kingdom.


  • Dublin 1 boasts a wealth of pubs, bars, cafes, restaurants, theatres, shops and hotels, making it the perfect spot for workers in the city. 


  • You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to your lunch break, with such wonderful cafes and eateries as Esquires Coffee, Lily's Café, Cobalt Cafe & Gallery and Beshoff's, all within a few minutes of O’Connell Street. 


  • After-work drinks are well catered for, with iconic pubs and bars lining the streets of Dublin 1. Madigan's O'Connell Street, Murray’s Pub, Brannigan’s and Grand Central Dublin among our favourite spots for some team-bonding or for meeting up with friends.

On the streets off O’Connell Street, you will find everything from cosy B&Bs to upmarket hotels.   • Theatre and music lovers will feel right at home in the area, with the famous Abbey Theatre and 3Arena nearby, both serviced by Luas and Dublin bus routes. The Abbey Theatre, first opened in 1904, is one of the finest theatres in the country and has hosted shows from Irish playwrights including William Butler Yeats, Lady Gregory and Seán O'Casey. The 3Arena hosts large concerts from musicians such as Elton John, Stevie Wonder and The Spice Girls.
